Many businesses suffer from having excellent employees who are unable to pass the 12-panel drug test due to their THC levels.  If your company policy states that a failed drug test will result in termination, you can lose your job.

With the spread of marijuana legalization in the United States, the problem might not be involving just one employee. Imagine losing an entire shift’s crew, or even enough people that your business cannot run efficiently. This is the unfortunate problem that some businesses are facing, and all over failed THC testing among employees. This is why a 10-panel drug test might be suitable for you.

What Does a Typical Drug Screening Test For?

A typical drug test can test for various numbers of substances. The test consists of a simple urine test. The 12-panel drug test tests for a total of twelve substances. The 12 substances include  cocaine, marijuana, benzodiazepines, opiates, PCP, amphetamines, barbiturates, methadone, propoxyphene, Quaaludes, Ecstasy/MDA, and Oxycodone/Percocet.

Most drug screening providers will allow different combinations of testing or testing that include fewer tests. There are 4-panel, 7-panel, 10-panel, and 12-panel tests that can test for drugs of particular concern. However, this is a good option because some drugs are more prevalent in certain areas than others. For example, if your business is in an area that’s affected by the opioid epidemic, you may want to test for opioids.

Should I Test my Employees for THC?

Testing employees’ THC levels all depends on which job sector you work in.  Working in a Government or healthcare sector may require you to receive full-panel drug tests. If, however, you own or manage a business in a state that has legalized marijuana, you should probably exclude marijuana tests from your drug screening.

You should also consider the fact that employees are harder to come by as of late, and marijuana testing could negatively impact your available labor. If you feel as though it is difficult, for instance, to find people to work overnights or ‘swing-shifts’, it would be advantageous to give your crew as many reasons to stick around. If you protect your employees, you are protecting your business.

Who Provides Quality 10-Panel Drug Screenings?

It is understandable to retain marijuana testing if your employees are using dangerous tasks or operating large equipment. However, if they do not operate large machinery,  a THC test from your screening routine can save some good employees and can streamline your hiring process as well using a 10-panel drug test.

However, if you have decided not to include THC in your routine drug screenings, Soteria Screening provides a quality 10-panel drug test that you can count on. If you want to learn more about drug screening or are looking for someone to administer drug tests for your business, check out
